Re: Off set sprocket coming loose

Any one else have problems with the nut that holds the front sprocket keeping coming loose on a offset sprocket? The thing is the spline doesn’t come through it so the tab washer doesn’t do it’s job. Brian, Perhaps try this ....take the G/box sprocket off & take it to a Toolmakers / Engineering...

Re: splutter

cheers i will try but carb cleaner seems to come through fast in every orifice its got 17.5 in standard i believe If you have Std Mikuni 26mm carbs the 17.5 pilots are correct for a Z900 and you should not require any larger than that ! If the bike was mine I'd check your plugs & caps are all O...

Re: Exhaust drains....

they should have an open hole at the base of the muffler about 4mm in diameter Yeh ...i think your spot on there . But you go back up the lowest 6 O'clock point of the out silencer skin, about 6-7mm and drill a hole there at 6 O'clock ...reason that is the point to drill is because I believe there ...

Re: Problems with Z900A4

Hi I am having problems with my UK 76 Z900A4. I restored it a few years ago and up until a few months ago had been running fine. It is in standard build with original 4 into 4 pipes, carburation, air box etc. It is however, fitted with a Dyna S electronic ignition. The problem is as follows: Bike s...

Re: Carburettor Jets

Easy way to bench sync without mucking about with bits of metal bar under the slides etc is to set all your slide adjusters midway on their travel and level the slides to the top of the carb bores with the throttle open. Once done you need to vac balance to get all the cylinders working equally. On...

Re: Valve stem oil seals and valve seal conditioners

Hi ZedHead, thanks for the info over the past few emails I've posted. Any ideas what would be a fair price? I'd rather sell to a good home than make a profit. Owned by myself since 1992, hundreds of receipts kept over the years. Engine is 1075 Wiseco, HD valve springs, APE valve spring retainers, c...

Re: Generator output z1000

Hi, my bike which I have owned for 22 years is playing up, I think. It leaked oil from the Ginny case over my boot so I decided it needed a new rubber bung and a loon from z-power. I had to use my own connectors as the supplied ones are too small for the wire. Anyway, I suspect it’s not charging as...

Re: Tappets/buckets

Hey, when are the shim buckets worn out? Do they wear out? Have some discolouration and slight scoring on the sides, imagine that’s normal wear and tear? I've never seen any spec related data on bucket & bore i/d & o/d tolerances . I personally would not expect to see any either, as the con...
