Iv'e used this also on lightly stressed areas with success - believe it or not I also repaired a alloy car cylinder head in the gasket fire wall sealing area it lasted 2 years !
Secret is to clean off all oil residues - carburetor cleaner is good for this

Try disconnecting the wires from the front brake presure switch ( on the splitter on the front yoke ) these can go down to earth internally.
