Re: Bike lifts

Tim, hi I tried to put my Z900 on my mates lift which had the smaller bed, and found the main stand foot prop hit the reinforcing lip on the bed side, made it a bit difficult: also the back wheel was overhanging a bit - so went for a larger Switzer one. I guess if you were strapping your bike down it...

1977 KZ1000 A1 - Sold

Due to lack of space Ive decided the A1 has to go: I'll be putting it on eBay and Car & Classic in a week or so but thought I would see if its of interest to anyone on the forum. Bought her as a running project from a forum member 2 to 3 yrs ago, and slowly tried to get her back to her original ...

Re: Wot, no sidepanel?

I feel your pain: I had exactly the same thing happen to me years ago: just got my A4 paint set back on the bike after a respray and the RH side panel decided to do a runner. :eek :eek I was a bit luckier than you as I retraced my route and found it lying damaged on a grass verge. Side panels on my ...

Re: KZ1000A1

I think I've finally finished my Z1000a1 resto. She had some persistent low speed running issues, but now after more sustained fettlng she's fully sorted (I hope), running spot on and ready for the road. Just had a "spirited" 30 mile ride in the sunshine and she ran perfectly: well pleased...

Re: Chrome plating

Hi, For a few years I've been using a guy called Aaron Walkinshaw at Chrome & Classics, based in Hinckley not too far from you. He's done lots of bikes for me (and my mates) been pleased with the price and quality - he's an honest guy to deal with. He's just done my rims and mudguard (see pic - ...

BZP - plating services

Chaps, can anyone recommend a good plater for some bits (engine mounting bolts, torque arm etc) off a current Kwak project that I need re bright zinc plating. Not needed this service for ages, my regular chromer cannot do it and Ive lost the details of the last company I used (think they were in Nor...

Re: Tank sealer

I used Flowliner on my Z900 approx 5 yrs ago, and (so far) it has stood the test of time. Worth mentioning though, is that my tank had some pin hole leaks and the Flowliner slightly blistered the paint were it bled thru - no big issue, and better than a leak :D Also used POR15 Rust Prep and Sealer o...
