Tightening the head cannot affect the cam chain at all or even the crank. Without the cams in, the cam chain can be dropped out of the way down the cam tunnel where it will sit on the bottom roller well clear of the head, any idler sprockets and the tensioner and is easily fished back out when neede...

The pin count is correct at 44, my theory is he got the exhaust cam position wrong initially and then set the inlet cam correctly (as in 44 pin count) but that then means both cams are out by 1 tooth which would screw it up somewhat. Both cams need to advance 1 tooth surely? Yes! Both cams a tooth ...

Exhaust cam looks to be one tooth retarded. If you remove the timing chain tensioner to let the chain go slack, you might be able to advance the cam by one tooth without removing the camshaft, IF there is enough clearance between the head and cam sprocket... +1. I didn't see that second pic first t...

Electrode colour is heat range/cylinder temps and base ring is mixture. Unless you are doing 1/4, 1/2 and full throttle plug chops then your plugs are only showing you are slightly rich at idle and maybe do with a cooler plug but until the mix is right you won't know if the plug is ok or not. You wa...

Dyna is the way to go to sort the timing but just the one cylinder being cool and lumpy tickover squarely points to the either the pilot system on that cylinder, an iffy spark plug or air leak on the inlet. Could also be a few other things if say the valve clearance on that cyllinder is tight or a v...

Rob, I just checked mine and it's exactly the same as yours. Fancy making up another spacer in exchange for beer vouchers? I have hardly run the thing hence not noticing any charging issues (battery lives on a Lithium Optimiser). I have a Moto Gadget speedo on the Moto Martin. It was great but when...

Electrex strikes again :( With my increased vigilance on the charging system after the Lithium battery failure and subsequent 1/2 mile push home i noticed the current battery read only an average of 10 volts after the good run out to the Squires meet on sunday. On closer inspection of the Electrex ...
