I think an exhaust might be a little large to cram in the hand luggage with the duty free stuff :D

My job takes me to the US every so often so on my last trip I invested in a set of works performance shock absorbers. I wanted the traditional piggy back type shocks but a misunderstanding between me and the guy at Works Performance meant I ended up with a set of remote reservoir shocks instead. Ini...

and yet another bloody Lawson......

I thought it about time I had a go at posting up some piccies of my effort..... I bought this about 18 months ago off eBay. Classic case of buyer beware because shiny on the surface may hide a multitude of sins. It came with a huge wedge of receipts including £800 on an engine refurb but the clut...

Cheers Jack - that explains a lot then! Final question on this subject..... The GPz 1100 A engine has damaged cases (broken mounting and a number of damaged threads particularly where the clutch cover bolts up. Could I swop over the crank, gearbox etc from this engine in to the good casings of the e...

Engine numbers

Can anyone help me identify the donor bikes for these engine numbers? Tried to add the good top end of one on to the decent bottom end of the other yesterday only to find they did not fit! KZT10BE027581 KZT10BE014977 KZT10BE014551 I seem to take one step forward and 2 backwards whenever I step in th...

The only things stamped on side is G6 31 on 1 side and 27a 02 on the other. They are 34mm inside diameter on inlet side so looks like I might be in the market for a set of 36mm! Anyone fancy a part exchange?. Final question..... carbs 1 &2 and 3 &4 have a plastic hose connector between the m...

Mikuni Flatslides sizing

Might sound like a stupid question but how do i tell what size my set of mikuni flatslides are? I cant see anything on them to suggest a size or model number. Is it just a simple case of measuring across the inside diameter of the main venturi? (34mm if that is the case). Would these be big enough t...

Thanks to Rich and ChrisNI! There is nothing wrong with the standard ignition hence the question - would I gain anything?

From what you both say then the answer is no and I'll keep the cash a bit longer until the standard packs up!

Dyna S Ignition on ELR

Is this a worthwhile investment on my 1984 Z1000R? As it slowly comes back together and I have a little cash is it worth splashing out?

Recommendations welcomed!

Hi Iceberg! I am close to finishing a Lawson project and have built a front end using FZR 600 fork legs, GPZ unitrack front wheel with R1 discs and AP race calipers. Fork legs are 38mm and slide straight in to yokes so only mudguard needs fettling.... At the back it has ZXR1100 swinging arm sleeved ...

Cylinder head and camshafts - Z1000R

Hi all - looking for advice on performance head work and camshafts. Engine is bored to 1170cc Wiseco and whilst everything is in bits thought I would get it breathed on. I have set of smoothbore Mikunis to fit when done. I'm looking for balance of power and reliability. What cams and what is recomme...

Thanks for the advice! I might just use the cams as I am told that they work really well on the earlier engines with a little gas flowing to the head.

GPz1100 A head on to Gpz1100B barrels

Would the head from a GPz1100A (unitrack) fit straight on to barrels and bottom end of GPz1100b engine?
