Z1000J electronic speedo cable guide?
My 1981 J has the original electronic speedo. Where the cable exits the sender from the wheel hub I recall there should be a cable guide holding the cable away from the wheel to prevent it rubbing. I don't have this part and can't find it on a parts finder and cannot get a decent photo of it either....

Re: Did not expect this
That's very interesting, thanks Al.
I'd never really considered that the SG of different fuels would vary enough to make a difference to the float height and fuel cut-off level.

Re: Did not expect this
Isn't Esso 99 octane ethanol-free in most parts of the country?
I appreciate that it won't stay "fresh" as long as some of the specialist racing fuels and additives, but it's a lot cheaper!

Re: Carb float/fuel height using tube method
Thanks guys.
I did try blowing into the tube and this sent the air back into the carb.
I then wasn’t sure whether this would have an affect on the fuel level in the carb, but I guess it shouldn’t?

Carb float/fuel height using tube method
Hopefully this will be a simple yes/no answer. When I try to measure the fuel height in the carbs on my Z1000J using a length of clear fuel pipe, I always seem to end up with a pocket of air in the tube between the bottom of the U-bend and the carb drain outlet i.e. the tube is not completely full o...

Re: FOR SALE 1974 S3 400 triple
Now provisionally sold
Interestingly, all of the enquiries I've had since re-advertising came from folk on here rather than the triples forums !
Guess there's a few like me who like the idea of having something very different alongside their Z.

Re: Z1B maitenance/upgrades
I've got Dyna S with standard coils and HT leads.
I keep wanting to go for the dyna coils and leads, but opinions vary as to whether they are actually worth the extra money over "standard" replica coils?

Re: Dyna S ignition problem
I would also get rid of the weird George mod, if the harness is has good clean and not botched contacts it will be more than enough to operate the ignition system. That's interesting, I think you're the first person I've seen who suggests that weird George way should be ditched. I've not tried it m...

Hi,
Welcome to the forum.
This question might be better posted in the "Bike Help" section as more people are likely to see it and respond.
Maybe one of the mods can do this for you? (or you could re-post it)
Cheers
Rick
