Re: Lockheed Calipers

I have Grimecas on my J and they're great, particularly for the price. But, if they come with pads don't use them as they're a different profile to any other aftermarket pads, so without making different brackets you're stuck with the Grimeca pads which are not so good. (there's a job for me over wi...

Re: ex-IoM proddie race GPz550 and Yamaha RD350 YPVS F2 for sale

The GPz is now sold, and the YPVS price dropped to £4250 with the Nitron shock. I'd rather leave that in there rather than fit the standard shock as I'm suffering with wonky joints at the moment....

Re: Champion Copper core plugs

I should have said carbs sorted and it just cane about in email conversation that Steve Smethurst reccommends using the Champion plugs. I've always used NGK but if there's something better I'll give them a try. Cheers for comments Ah, that's good then and apologies for maybe looking like I'd jumped...

Re: Champion Copper core plugs

I don't want to sound clever or owt, but if you think you're having carb issues, why not sort the carb issues?

Sorry, I've been up to my neck in work. This is your man, where it turns out that a certain Martin off here has relocated to Cyprus! :D

Re: Z1000J - Fuel Tank.

There's a chap somewhere near me who specialises in tank dent removal, but doesn't paint them. Apparently he dresses the dents out as best he can and then fills with lead - proper old-skool. I'll try to find out his contact details.

Re: My R90S

My mate has one just like that which he restored a few years ago. It's hilarious to ride, particularly due to the front brakes being so awful due to ridiculous cable setup. :eek

My 29mm Smoothbores work wonderfully on my J that has a flowed and skimmed head (0.5mm), B2 cams, 1mm oversize and an old Kerker race pipe.

Re: New Z1100R Owner

Welcome! :) That really is a lovely thing, and the second rarest of all of the Zeds. If I have one tip for you it would be to leave the aftermarket swinging arm right where it is. My Davida was the most-noticeable change I made to my J, which was a revelation compared to the stock one. It's a bolt-o...
