Re: Z1000a1 - not sure what I have or where to start

Good stuff - so 1. I now need to get the paint codes for the colour known as 'Close as to possible to Kawasaki Diamond Sky Blue Possibly Green ' I will pm GarryL. / Warren if you are still reading. My wife had a V6 Mazda 323 that looked similar called Noble Green 11n Mica - but hey I'm colour blind ...

Re: Z1000a1 - not sure what I have or where to start

Just checked my V5 - this shows it as first registered 24/08/1977 with the frame and engine numbers correct with what I have. FWIW It also shows the colour as 'Blue' although this could have been changed. Engine number is KZT00AE 41xxx - Not really sure what all this means but as I said I think that...

Re: Z1000a1 - not sure what I have or where to start

Excellent - glad I asked now - ref the frame number I missed a bit not sure that it will make a difference but in full it is KZT00A-026433 If the frame is from an imported US bike I might have a bit of a re-think on the direction I take. I just checked Zedder out and the numbers tie up with a Japane...

Z1000a1 - not sure what I have or where to start

Hi all - long post here so my apologies in advance. Some time ago I acquired a stripped Z1000a. It was a bike that I had seen complete albeit rough quite a few years ago in someones back garden. The frame number is KZ00A-026433 and it is now registered in my name on a 'S' 77/78 plate - I believe it ...

Re: z1000a1 swap for Guzzi?

Hi guy's many thanks for the reply's and pm's to last nights beer soaked post - you have all asked the same question 'how much do I want for it?' the daft thing is I would rather swap it for something interesting and preferably on the road than sell it. I genuinely have no idea what the bike is wort...

z1000a1 swap for Guzzi?

Hi all - I seem to have gotten my self into a situation where I have too many 'Projects pending' not enough time to complete and due to new and forthcoming grandchildren dwindling inclination. I have a dismantled but complete 77/78 Z1000 with all paperwork 39000 miles. It is stripped to its Componen...

Big vote for Leighton's - they stripped, blasted repaired and powder coated the base of my XS850, repaired the foam, recovered it and sent it back for about £140 - Great job.

Hi there - not sure if you are sorted yet but I have a GPZ500 that seems to be sound but neglected - probably doesn't need a full rebuild just some tidying, carb clean, caliper strip, oil and fluid change etc. Bit too much on my plate at the moment to get to it, could be a pretty bike low miles and ...

Cheers Dave - there is a guy just down the road from me that has powder coated a couple of frames for me including the XS. I think he's pretty reasonable £100 to blast clean and powder coat frame, swing arm and stands etc. Always inside of a week, never had any complaints. I've got the frame ready ...

may be worth putting individual questions up with a title that gives an indication as to what the query is Cheers Mick - I didn't realise quite how busy this forum is, I didn't want to flood the place with loads of daft questions right from the start. Blue is the colour..... That is stunning - I wa...

Thanks Garry - I have a really good spray guy who has his own mixing plant - he did a great job on my XS850 and is more than happy to use my bike bits as 'fill ins' between bigger jobs. I'm not going to go 'obsessive' on it just period - I think.
