Re: Z1000A1 - Basket Case Build

Building wheels is not too hard - but it is easy to get in a tangle. I used to build hundreds of custom cycle wheels it's pretty much the same. There is no magic or black art - they are either right or wrong. Correct spoke length and getting the first spoke right is the key. After that its painting ...

Many thanks Will - I have got them 'just in case' My original set are untested and the idiot light displays are poor. It seemed like a good opportunity.

Re: Z1000A1 - Basket Case Build

Day off tomorrow so fit the tyres and tubes and take the weight off the stand. Carbs stripped, ultrasonically cleaned, jetted rebuilt and polished (to a reasonable...

Re: Z1B back from the dead

I'm with you all the way on the therapeutic qualities of wheel building. Built my rear wheel tonight courtesy of AdrianH and his rear hub.

Enjoyed watching this thread - it seems to be cracking on at a fair pace. Loving the in house garage shots.

Re: Not sure how but this just happened!

Its the newest bike I've ever owned.:) 30 years younger than me.

Sorry Jon Ive just re-read this - is this pic of the Z your bike? The reason that I ask is the exhausts - I'm talking to Roy from OS with a view to have a set of 4-2 made up on my Z1000.

Re: KLX 250.....

I've got the rather lardy 1978 KL250 Trail bike which isn't! Unless your Sammy Miller who tested it in this review http://www.2smoto.com/distu.asp?id=667 from Motorcycle Review Magazine 1978 and thought that it was. But I guess everything was a bit shit in Black and White (Z's being the exception of...
