Vac-Bags

I lifted the dust cover on the Z at the weekend and was disheartened to find a smattering of white oxide on the cases. May be I only did a second rate job if cleaning it back in September but I started thinking – does anyone use one of these: - https://www.vac-bag.co.uk/motorcycle-vac-bags.html Are ...

Re: Shim Tool

If it's this one

I think you'd be better off with the original Kawasaki tool.
That’s my preferred choice.

Re: Unitrak Rear Brake Lever

Hi Gary, I've tried sending you a PM but it sems to be stuck in my Outbox. Thanks for looking. The top one looks right going by the others I've seen. The 750's seem to be the same but have the bolt going the other way, not that that would bother me. If it's all right by you, at least let me pay the ...

A few more Unitrak parts required

Hi Guyz,
I’m in need of a few more parts for my Unitrak: -
Gear change lever and linkage,
Rear inner mud guard,
RH pillion foot rest,
Front fairing, mounting bracket and headlight,
And if they’re in good working order, front and rear master cylinders.

Thanks Paul

Re: Worn or Worn Out?

It's difficult to tell from the photo but I'd guess there's an imperfection in the hardening causing the the surface to break up.
Either way, you need a fresh one.
And if the corresponding output gear shows any ware marks l'd replace it as well.

Re: Advice please

They both have dowels in them. The book calls them 'Knock Pins' and they serve to locate the gasket and sump.
The front has a long bolt through it.
The rear drains oil from the crank case breather.

Re: GPZ1100 Frame

It's not easy. I had the same idea with a Unitrak frame but when I positioned the Z900 crankcases in the frame it was obvious it was going to be a challenge. So I gave up but someone on here has done it. The front mount is way off and needs repositioning as I recall. Here's the project http://z1owne...

Carb cable bracket

This is probably a bit of a long shot but I need a cable bracket for a set of vm26 carbs. The set I have came from an early GS850 where the push cable mount is a good 15 to 20mm higher. As a result either the inner cable needs to be longer or the outer needs to be shorter by the same amount. This is...

From memory.
M10 x 1.5 (standard or course) into the cases.
M10 x 1.25 (metric fine) for the nut.
