Thanks both, this is something I've had on the back burner for some time. I have all the ZXR1100 parts necessary, so all I need now is the actuator.

Heres hoping Falk resumes production soon!!

Hello Mikey, i`m glad you asked that one because exactly the same is happening with mine. I`m guessing that if others are having problems with the cup causing drag, then maybe if it`s too worn and doesn`t have any drag the ring gear then spins freely. My starter clutch was slipping badly before, i ...

Re: Valve Clearances

Hi all Z900 A4. Decided to check valve clearances due to poor running and curiousity. According to the book, clymer. clearances should be 0.05-0.10mm. On checking every valve i can't even slip under a 0.04 mm feeler. So obviously all shims need doing, grrr. And i need a shimming tool. I'm in Leylan...

Grinding paste is recommended by people in the know  Probably worried you won't clean it off properly, and it'll get into the engine :!: :!: :!: This "lapping-in" is a standard practice on close fit items :| Perhaps someone else with an Engineering degree can put us out of our miser...

1977 Z1000A1 - rotor required

As per this thread, looks like a new rotor is in order. If anyone has a rotor in good condition I'd be very grateful if I could buy it off you :)

Problem worse than feared!!!

Thanks Paul, I just had a look and (yet again!!!) the rotor has came loose as you suggested. This has happened twice in the last couple of years. Both times I've used a new woodruff key, loctite and torqued the rotor mounting bolt to 18 ft-lb, and yet it still comes loose. Even being an extreme opti...
