Re: Poor mans Mk 2 . Not for the purists .
Good start :D get the sprocket carrier and rear sprocket on there, with the front and the back sprockets on and running true (laser is best as even a piece of steel can have a few mm run off) see what space there is between the sprocket carrier and the swing arm and the rear brake mount, the swing a...

Poor mans Mk 2 . Not for the purists .
I had an idea recently to build a poor mans version of the once un loved but now sought after Mk 2 Z1000. I have bought a 1000 S T frame , a couple of panels . Having a few other projects and parts about I had already found some ZZR1400 wheels and swing arm (190 tyre ) which were going into another ...

Re: As good as finished ... Z1000ST: MK2 clone ..
I have just bought a S T frame to do similar. Did you manage to shed any weight from the frame and did you brace it anywhere ? There isnt much weight to shed mate and no need to add more in bracing, the frame is solid, i would be more concerned about running gear, what front and back end to use, th...

1000 ST frame for a chain drive build
Has anyone here used the Kawasaki Z1000 ST frame for a chain drive build? Not only converting shaft to chain I know its been done, more so a resto mod as the term seems to be, the ST frame is heavier and stronger and some use it for drag racing. Often ignored due to being the runt of the litter. Plu...

Re: Z400j
The 400 j is very popular in Japan , a lot were exported back there in the 90's when they were cheap along with a few other models they are keen on. I supplied a few to Bat m/c's back then .

Re: Double the troublezz. AMA style Racecrafters Z1000 and Moriwaki Z1R Turbo.
Another addition to the parts pile. Neither bike has any brake or clutch controls and i've been scouring Ebay etc for months and months for decent hydraulic cylinders that don't have road rash or covered in fur with snapped levers and still priced like they were made of gold when these popped up on...

Modern foot pegs on a Z frame
Has anyone found some modern rider pegs where the mountings fit a Z1000 A1 frame . Just mounting and pegs obviously gear linkage and r brake set up would need adapting. Thanks in advance
