Z1100R Tool tray and rear storage box.

Hi,
A friend of a friend is looking for a Z1100R tool tray and the rear storage box.
He has a 1984 ELR.
I reckon they're hen's teeth territory, but if anyone has either and wants to sell get in touch.
Thanks.

I used them for the forks on my Z400J project.
I'm no expert in chrome quality, but they look, feel and fit great.
I'll be using them again.

Re: Another Green Kwak in the Garage

I wish mine was that clean!
Great bikes, and you've got the best colour (IMHO), the flat lime green.
The anorak in me would put original mirrors on, but maybe those ones work better than the OEM!
Anyway, nice bike, I hope you enjoy it.

Re: The Current Collection

That makes sense, but it doesn't explain why a picture that shows UTRW on my desktop uploads USD to the forum. Even If I rotate it to USD on the desktop then upload it it still shows USD on the forum :whoa It's rotating it to view. Open it in a photo editor - it might even open the right way up - t...

Re: Dismantling ignition barrel - pin removal

Didn't have much joy using self tappers- I'll need to get smaller screws. But, I think I got lucky. Both barrels have a plastic cap at the bottom, the 400J is slimmer than the ER500 one, but they are interchangeable. This takes care of most of the height difference. I'll go down this route as it's t...

Re: Dismantling ignition barrel - pin removal

Why do you need it open? The original switch is jammed (key won't turn & steering lock is locked on), but anyway, there was a different key for the petrol cap etc. But my drilling skills etc today have knackered it beyond use anyway. I bought a used key lock set (Ignition switch, petrol cap and...

Dismantling ignition barrel - pin removal

Hi, Trying to get into an ignition barrel, but these little pins are causing me trouble. I've tried drilling them out, that failed! So, before destroying another barrel, can anyone give me pointers on how to deal with these wee pins? These switches are from an 81 Z400. Cheers, Davy IMG_1792.jpg IMG_...

Re: A 1982 GPz750R1

Yes it's a J3 from '82 or '83 Good to know there's at least another one out there! If you get spare time, I'd be happy to see some photos. As far as the parts book or the shop manual is concerned, thanks for the offer but I have both. I allways get those two before I start a restoration. At least I...

Re: A 1982 GPz750R1

@ Kwackman: it's a Z400J, your wish became reality! I found it in a barn in 2016, restored it in 2017. Nice little bike to restore, just wanted to restore one that wasn't so heavy as the others and when the opportunity came along, did it. Good to know there are still some out there! Looks like a J3...

What is that little sister? Z550? Z500? Or (and I really want it to be this) a Z400J?

That 750 looks great, I had one and really liked it. A car driver didn't like it so much!
