If you want to see all the gubbins that attaches to a battery bracket take a look at the pics on my Z1-R rebuild.
http://www.zedrider.co.uk/z1-r.html
It's from 1978 so it will be similar and give you some idea of what should be attached and how.

Re: Gone Over To The Dark Side
I had a 250n Superdream in Silver with a Darth Invader screen.
Also had the 250rs in blue.
My guilty pleasure was always CBX but never managed to get one.
My brothers both had a few CB900s as well.

Re: Gone Over To The Dark Side
Adrian, I think it may be sadly down to resources - Hodna can write off small volume sales to produce something that is pretty true to their heritage. Just to prove they can. e.g. they had to get special process to make cooling fins 2mm thick so that the engine would tick on cool down like in the ol...

Re: Gone Over To The Dark Side
I think it's performance will be more Z650 than Z1, but it was the only big cc spoked 70s style bike I could see at this quality for the money. It was born with twin shocks - but the larger tank, four into two pipes and spoked wheels came along in year two. Perhaps the RS will do likewise ?? Probabl...

Gone Over To The Dark Side
I have been hanging out to see the new Kawasaki retro since Hodna launched theirs in 2013. Really tried to get it on with the new Z900 RS but I can still see too much of the original Sugomi (modern) styling underneath the retro body kit. So after a couple of abortive early Zed purchases went pear sh...

Re: Newbie in Cotswolds
Hi Will,
Don't know too much about the two little (brit?) bikes but I need to get acquainted with that lush LC you have there.
Looks like a corker.
Sounds like there may be enough of us round here to make a meet up worth while in the Spring.

Re: Newbie in Cotswolds
Ok Will drop me a pm when you are on the road with it & we could meet up. I should have something taxed & insured by end of March. I rebuilt one of the later Lawson Reps last year - http://i816.photobucket.com/albums/zz82/pertonpc/Kawasaki%20ZRX%201200R%202001/IMG_0115_zpsgml1jal1.jpg - you ...

Nice work Paul, be a shame if you sell up and don't have one left after all you have done.
Hope it's not health reasons?

Re: Z650 4-2 Replicas
Motad were doing a complete 4 into 2 when I last checked.
http://www.motad.co.uk/kawasaki-z650/
It did not look too close to the original kit though.
I have some repro silencers if you just need the end can

Re: Oil drain bolt won't budge.
Try a squirt/ soak of penetrating oil while you are waiting to have another go.
It's probably not gonna get in but you never know and it is cheap enough if you have some around.
It certainly won't make it any worse.
Good luck with the extraction !!

Nice one Steve, I did a photo story for a Z1-R strip & rebuild if you need any reference pics/ info. http://www.zedrider.co.uk/z1-r.html all pics enlarge if you click them. I'm a bit partial to the orange side reflectors on the frame tubes myself, and I like the USA style indicators at the back....

especially on the white lettering, or engine casings (where the edges are raised to keep paint inside) - don't feel obliged to use a brush to get the paint in. I tend to go for cocktail stick or wooden BBQ skewer with pointed end. As long as the badge is off the bike and flat the paint will settle f...

Hi Paul,
Are you gonna let Z Power know their listing is incorrect then?
might help someone else out who is less knowledgeable.
cheers
