Been there a couple times myself and as the man says Hacksaw blades were the only way in my limited workshop but it is possible
with patience which is another one of my weaknesses Good Luck

Got the barrel on in-between riding Kawasakis :) then started to refit the Harness i'm redoing all connectors once it's layed where it should be front to back not one of my favourite pastimes but a necessary evil on this butchered bastardised one, its in good nick in headlight just req a good clean ...
