Re: KZ650B Metal Keys

If we are talking about regular ignition keys they can be cut to order from the number.
I used Arun Locks on ebay for a 1974 kawasaki key and got it within a week. I think cost was less than a tenner.

Re: Camchain rivet link - z1000 A1

When completed around 50000 miles I decided to fit an open rivet link camchain to my Z1R about 2010, and it did a good few thousand miles on it until sold in 2021. As zed1015 says the key bit is having the link fully supported on the fixed plate side before carefully tapping (with the ball side!) of...

Re: Oil level

No higher than the top level with a cold engine.

I tend to keep my A2 towards the higher level and check regularly (on a flat surface) as they can use a bit on long runs.

Re: Project Tetanus - H1 500 - Never Again

Seems to me we might have both used Alan as "Project Co-ordinator". I have used him for one or two things on my Z1000 and found his advice to be sound and his work is second to none. To be honest I am just looking forward to getting the thing running properly and for anyone else who might ...

Re: Project Tetanus - H1 500 - Never Again

Over the last 15 months, I too have had a similar ‘triples’ experience – but with a smaller ‘74 s3. I thought I had bought a runner that needed some tuning and ended up in shock after investing a significant amount of time and expense including (but not limited to!)– All new electrics, loom / genera...

Not sure if the picture will display properly (Part 68) but seems also described as 'throttle cable pulley'.
Looks like a part specific to the Z1b.

Re: Z1000-A1 inner plastic rear mudguard

Might work out cheaper to get your original repaired - I used these guys afew years ago to repair a cracked zx9r fairing and it came back looking like new. https://www.plastics-surgery.com/ I dare say there are others dotted around the country just as good In the meantime I found my old inner mudgua...

Re: Rusty Tank

I cannot give a quick answer for tank sealer. - But I have been involved recently in trying to clean up an old petrol tank with fairly light internal rust. This was my experience: I cannot recommend the solution involving coke which after a few days left the tank with a brown sludge deposit and not ...

Re: Z1000A2 Owners Manual

Hi Bill - I got one when I bought my A2 in 2013 but it's not in good nick and not for sale - I've been looking out for a decent one since then! If you need something copied I can scan and send it to you if that helps. (I ended up buying an A1 manual which seem to come up more regular than the A2.) C...
