Re: Petcock ...
So put the nut on tap, tightened it until washer fitted into gap between threads, then to stop washer getting munched I screwed the whole tap and nut as one onto the tank til the washer was flat and secured, then sweated up the Nut... think that makes sense, dry for the moment and no ptfe tape.. Min...

So after a five week postage wait , got some new seals to hopefully stop a weeping petcock... Not going to whack it back on until I have watched it for a while though... weather has been so good though, spent so long lockdown cleaning I am scared to get it dirty .... https://i.postimg.cc/pL1RBK43/04...

I am in a similar position but bought a second hand set of 4:2 for my 1000, this has put paying out more on hold for a while, I had several recommendations for a company called Silvabronze ... was intending to approach some Old school classic restorers for opinions as it was suggested that it may be...

Re: 1978 KZ1000 A2
I love the z1000 because of the 4:2 pipes, they just look right, I also struggle to appreciate any 4:1 systems as half the bike looks right , the other side is missing something, now my aims are just a spirited ride at most and no desire for knee down top end performance , sports exhausts are unwarr...

Having a leak at the tank/tap join and waiting for a new washer my thoughts have turned to the fitment.... the nut has two threads and there are surely different ways to tighten it up , I just lined the tap up and tightened ..is there some black art to ensuring the washer gets squeezed properly? Sor...

Wow these look great. Hopefully mine will one day. What type of Scotch pad do people recommend? I've used Autosol for donkey's years but never a Scotchbrite or similar. Are they good on fins? Auto sol will start to polish the surface so I am wary of using it on fins and casing I found scotch pads l...

Re: Brackets in front of battery case Z1000A1
Just checked mine, I don’t have a 15, but there is room for it under the air box, not sure what it does though.. 20 and 15 seem sorted , 18 can be seen in my first picture securing the battery down... Not sure what you mean about securing 20 down, you can see the top of one of the two bolts securing...

I can’t see 15 at all 20 I think is a mounting bracket to which you bolt the front of the battery tray You can just see the 20 securing bolt in the second photo between the air intake and the negative battery lead 172903E1-73AE-4048-832C-5700FD84414B.jpeg CE861B67-34BD-4FDD-AB06-FB91F3358EB4.jpeg
