Re: Shim adjustment

Hi stinky in order to remove the shims you need a special tool from Kawasaki (n° 57001-113), a valve shim tool. I think that" Z-Power" or "Biker's toolbox" can supply you one. When using the tool don't forget to take the valve cover gasket off. To determine what shims you need is...

Re: Time to rebuild my old GPz

Hi Mark congratulations with the running engine! You'll find the reason why the N°3 cylinder is not working as it should, I'm certain about that. If you have a spare spark plug, remove the cap from the third sparkplug, put the spare sparkplug in the cap and make sure that the sparkplug touches the e...

Re: GPZ1100 A1 fuel tap

Hi JohnA

have a look at this:

https://japparts.nl/index.php?main_page ... ts_id=5229

I have very good experiences with them!
Send them an E-mail and ask if they ship to the UK (customs forms, etc)
Good luck

Re: Z1000J3 (in foreign climes)

Hi redzee

the Z1000J is a good bike! Better road handling and softer seat foam for longer rides :D
Try to get her back to stock with as many original parts as you can.
About the eighties: a nice decade, a lot of special bikes, some very good music and lots of happy memories!

Re: GPZ1100 A2 fuel pump

Hi rattly I think that the problem is somewhere else. When there's enough pressure in the circuit, the pump doesn't start so perhaps the pressure relief valve is stuck or the device just before the relief valve that makes sure there's enough pressure broke down. Have you checked if you have ignition...

Re: RAL code for Simoniz

Good morning Pete if you're talking about the black paint, I can tell you that the RAL number is 9005. I use the 80 % gloss for the frame and frame parts. I have no idea how much % gloss the Simoniz is. If you use a gloss paint keep in mind that the initial gloss gets a bit duller when the paint is ...

Re: GPZ1100 A2 fuel pump

Hi rattly
according to my interpretation it's the 30 Amp fuse, the one most right.
I hope this can help you.

Re: Stem bolt

Hi sean

it should be torcqed at 4,5 to 5 Kg/m.
Be sure that the big castle nut underneath is fast enough and that there's no play on the steering stem.

Re: Restoration of a Z1000A2

Hello guys no grinding or stripping off paint today, no it was baking time! The engine covers received a special clear coat last monday and that coat has to dry at least 3 days. Since it was friday those 3 days were gone and the oven was heated. All the engine covers spend 30 minutes in the hot oven...

Re: zx11 83 chain guard fitment

Hi Pete

the gpz750 and the gpz1100 have both the same chain case, the part numbers are both 360141101.
What the a and b stands for: i have no idea.
If you need a chain cover, I think I have a spare one, give me a bit of time and I'll check it out.

Re: Speedo accuracy

Hi men the internal gears of the speedometer have a different color. The Km/h speedo has white gears, the M/h has light green gears. The gears can be changed but it's a very fiddling job! The wobbling of the needle is mostly the result of the damping fluid in the little container underneath the need...

Re: Restoration of a Z1000A2

Hey men a little update: the underside of the fuel tank is stripped as much as possible. DSCN6951.JPG The tools were the circular grinder and the rotating nylon brush. The left hand side panel was stripped too. Under the lime green paint I discovered a sticker of the original dealer who sold the bik...

Hi GPZ592

you did a great job there!
Let's hope that the engine runs smooth and everything works as it should.
You deserve that after all the good work you did.
