Bought the guilari seat, cma wheels, dual disks ,etc got me spanners out and..... couldn't do it it is (at present) a piece of history, maybe only to us zedheads bu...

thanks for the replies, took the simple option and filled the tank from a known good petrol station, had to reset the idle to 1500. Ran the bike this morning no pops or bangs and idle running at 2000! I guess it was bad petrol (dregs?) as one of the stations I use is a Shell at Ripley just off the A...

Backfire

Hi
took my Z650 out today as the GPz has fried its rectifier.
Haven't used for a few weeks, it was very hard to start this morning and will not idle, turned up the idle but it backfires a lot on closed throttle
Any ideas?

done this conversion twicew now, gt750 and z650, you can use a standard 7" light in the shell. Vehicle wiring products do wipac units. If you use a 55/60w halogen bulb there should be no issue (at least I haven't had one!) the light is much better, you could try a cibie unit but you will need a...

Carb Update

Spent some time fettling on Sat, stripped and cleaned the carbs, replaced fuel filter and fitted pingel tap from debbens. Took it for a spin but couldn't get above 70! Problem was fuel starvation. Seems fuel filter was restricting flow, popped down to the bike shop and bought a rebuildable filter an...

Panic ensued and I took the seat off and was relieved to find that it was not electrical but coming from the engine breather. Ok, so I had been caning it but it begs the questi...
