Don't know if this is of interest for anyone looking for a project?
A non standard 1976 Kawasaki Z900 A4, Imported from US in 1994,
Bought by me in December 2013 in a poor state from a garage in Sussex, as a project
But in the last 2 years, changes of location, work, lack of resources, etc means no real progress,
I can't see this changing in the near future, so......
It’s a Z900 engine and frame with correct numbers, V5 in my name,
FZR 1000 front and rear running gear, + swinging arm,+ brakes, braided hoses, 180x17 rearwheel, 120x17 front wheel
What’s been done:
I had the bike stripped down, and the frame was strengthened around the headstock, mid + rear frame
Then all powder coated black, along with other parts , headlight bowl+ rim , Bar risers, H/light brackets,
Footrest hangers, heel plates, top yoke, etc
The Engine went off to a bike mechanic for a thorough check over; internals were checked and parts replaced as required.
New Clutch, all Gaskets , Oil seals, shims, circlips etc .
The casings were all Vapour Blasted back to new.
Carburettors cleaned out and checked and reassembled .
Receipt of £971.
New Headrace bearings fitted, Renthal Handle bars,+ grips
Original Lockheed Oil cooler,
Seat is a good 2/4 seat,
New Z900 A4 Wiring loom purchased from Saisei
Coils, condenser, etc original,
4 x K+N filters, 2 good, 2 peeling chrome,
New repro Handlebar switches, left and right,
New adjustable Shorty Clutch and brake levers, with new master cylinder, (black and alloy)
Good s/hand inner rear plastic mudguard,
Exhaust is a Harris ..... in “Fair" condition,
With 2 x other exhausts another poor harris and a matt black 4 into 1 slightly dented, like an alpha ??
Tank is in good condition no dents, but with chips out along the bottom edges where its been on/off the bike,
Sidepanels and tail piece good, now flatted off for primer,
Original rear light
Clocks and console original with powder coated covers,
New ignition+ keys
Very good replacement alloy clutch cover, (the one on the bike has peeling chrome, and been repaired)
Spare Sprocket/gear cover,
Hagon rear shocks,
All original parts, hoses, cables, brackets etc and parts I've accumulated will come with the bike
The bike has been loosely assembled as a rolling chassis, as in this pic, and is kept wrapped up in dry secure storage,
Frame and Engine have been done, needs someone with more time and resources,
All the parts here to reassemble, apart from battery, and bottom of idiot light cover.
I'm looking for £2500 ............(but will not split for parts thanks)
I have a whole host of pics of the various parts I can forward....... viewing near Dover in Kent,
I'm sure I've missed out something here,......... please pm me with any questions,
Thanks for looking, Neil,
(If it doesn't sell.... I'll mothball it and look at it when I have more time)
