For Sale - Z1 Streetfighter
!976 US import Z1 frame
FJ1200 engine
GSXR1100 rear wheel & swing arm
FJ front end
Custom steel tank and headlight clock unit.
I built it over a couple of years and put it on the road in 1997. Won best Streefighter at the 1997 Welsh Show - Builth Wells.
I've used it up until 2022 (last taxed 09/2021). Been to Spain on it twice.
Great bike just needs some TLC.
I can't see myself getting round to doing it and it seems a shame to let it carry on deteriorating.
Apart from the down pipes, All the bright work is stainless steel and so are nearly all the nuts and bolts.
Still running, just needs a new battery and the clutch level needs bleeding.
I dropped it on our drive through going a bit too quick and hitting the front brake too hard, hence the damage to the corner of the tank and the head lamp.
The plastic side panels and tail piece have cracks in them.
A great winter project for someone.
£1200 ONO

Re: Z1/FJ Streetfighter For Sale
Mad looking machine
i remember back in the early days of Streetfighter mag, 22 year old me seeing bikes like this and thinking how would i even begin to build it, i had a shaved down Gpz750 then more streetfightered cause i bought it crashed damaged and couldn't afford new body work. Its mad to think that a bike fairly modern in comparison can be registered and built on a 76 frame. Thank the lords we dont live in Germany.

Angus.
