Z1100 shaft

#1 PostAuthor: pluto » Thu Mar 23, 2017 5:47 pm

Up for sale here before I list it on ebay is my z1100 shaft which I used over the winter.
It has a nearly new set of Avon Roadriders, braided hoses, new steering bearings, a recently rebuilt motor with 1170 kit (according to the invoices I got with the bike) and stripped and cleaned carbs. Paintwork is ok, few scabby bits here and there on the frame but generally it's pretty good, there is the very slightest of oil weeps from the head gasket on the lh side but as its a single piece cometic gasket it's no surprise. It rides really well, pulls like a train and smooth as butter. It's a US import and is wired so the headlamp stays on. The pic shows it as it is but wearing my Gpz1100 mirrors and rear shocks which are back where they belong, I have a set of bar end mirrors and it has chrome rear shocks, there is also a grab rail that can go back on. New mot went on in January so ready to go. I'm after £1600.00 for it.
Thanks Dave

That made me smile. I had a Z1100 shafty in Candy Red back in '94-95. I remember it would wheelspin at about 70 in the wet, which was a little unnerving at first. Bought it with 3000 miles on the clock, put another 20k on it, blew the base gasket and boiled the brakes at the TT and then sold it for more than I paid for it. Those were the days!
