Z1 FOR SALE 1973
Recently imported from Canada, this is an original Z1 from 1973. Frame number Z1F02..5. Engine number Z1E02..0. The bike is registered in my name and stored at my house in Henley on Thames. The bike was recently recommissioned and MOT'd including new tyres, battery and oil and filter. Starter motor was renovated and a few minor bits and bobs sorted out. Bad points: I think the chain guard is wrong, rear rim is rusty, idiot lights stay on and there is a problem with the charging. However engine sounds sweet, and bike runs and rides well.
You are welcome to come and view, please text only initially if you are interested on 07909 967556. If you include your email address I can send you more photos and a video of the bike running. This is a good restoration candidate or a quick fix and ride. Looking for best offer around £9,000.

Re: Z1 FOR SALE 1973
Max,
Please confirm that the engine and frame numbers are in the 2000s as you have used 6 spaces to show the numbers,Z1 engine numbers are stamped as 5 digit.
The carbs are not Z1.
Regards
Steve

Front caliper is also from a Triple....
Still not to bad if the numbers are right.

Re: Z1 FOR SALE 1973
It could be an early model as the cylinder head nuts are the shorter type.

Re: Z1 FOR SALE 1973
frame has been braced too
Re: Z1 FOR SALE 1973
Carbs look to have one big drain nut could be 29 mm smooth bores
Re: Z1 FOR SALE 1973
Gear lever looks like it's designed for a Pygmy!
Re: Z1 FOR SALE 1973
Am I missing something here???
This is a Z1 for £9K...and apart from the carbs...everything else can be swapped out cheaply.
What's the issue?

No issues mate, calm down a bit!
You must have been around forums long enough to know everything is commented on, no-ones having a go.
Re: Z1 FOR SALE 1973
Thanks Garyd! I thought I'd set a fair price.
I have had numerous comments, probably all correct and have done a little investigative work myself:
Carbs are wrong, possibly Z900?
Frame has been braced
Front wheel is correct 1972, rear wheel is from a 1974
Seat base with black foam correct
Numbers correct
Tank in good shape, no dents that I can see
Chrome generally good
Right side panel has been repaired

Re: Z1 FOR SALE 1973
Max,
To add to your list;
The chrome headlamp ears are later Z1A/B.
Can't quite see if the forks are early type.
I hope you get your price and I would be interested but I have been down the 73 Z1 resto route and was very lucky to have purchased Davy Doherty's 72/73 parts collection for £4K,which at the time,8 years ago, was described as expensive but maybe not so now.It did not matter as I got a stunning bike out of it.
Good luck with the sale!!!!
Regards
Steve

Re: Z1 FOR SALE 1973
No issues for me. Check the carbs. If they have one big drain nut they are probably smooth bores and much more desirable than the a4 26mm. Just trying to be helpful
