Period mint R+R Street Stroker shocks - SOLD

#1 PostAuthor: Big Fluff » Sat Jul 22, 2017 9:15 am

They're on ebay at the moment but I'd sell them to a member for just £40 + postage.

Here is the listing to save me typing it all out again:

Genuine early 80's "R+R Street Stroker" Shock Absorbers

Here we have a real nice set of R+R Street Stroker shock absorbers from the early eighties that have been completely stripped, cleaned, prepared and refinished in their original colours of the day.
They have been painted using Sperex "Tough Black" and yellow enamels. I have also fitted new replica decals to the top covers, again as per the original design.

Condition is very good indeed. The only blemish being very slight pitting on one of the damper rods (see pic. 9). However, this does NOT effect their performance as it's not in the direct swept area. Remember I've had these shocks completely apart and the oil damping is still perfect, with absolutely no traces of leakage whatsoever. If I had any doubts, then as a fellow classic bike nut myself, I would not be offering them for auction so you can buy with confidence!

The real nice feature of these quality shocks is that R+R thought about paint rubbing off when you alter the preload.... so they actually designed and fitted the black plastic sliders at the bottom of the springs. So when you turn the preload collar, it doesn't mark the painted surfaces of the actual shock body!

They measure 330mm (13") eye to eye, and have 10mm mounting holes, but being rubber I'd imagine they would squeeze over a 12mm stud too.
They were taken from a 77' Kawasaki Z900A4 so you'll have some idea of the spring rate etc. I would imaging that as long as the length and fitment match your requirements, then they'd be suitable for most 70's - 80's 650cc+ bikes.

Bloody Photobucket won't work at the moment so here's the link. http://www.ebay.co.uk/itm/182679559444? ... 1555.l2649
