Z1R petrol tank

#1 PostAuthor: Peter » Mon Mar 19, 2018 9:48 am

Very rare Z1R small petrol tank. Just had a small dent professionally removed, then prepared and primed ready for top coat of paint. Very clean inside and out. The cap (no key), badges and fuel sender are included. £475

What can I say? I'm good at buying things (especially before the days of the interweb), hence a garage and loft full of bits I thought would one day come in useful... Not had much experience of selling, so just looked at what was about for sale elsewhere and considering the condition I thought it was a fair price!

Ignore me (us) - just like a bargain (or free) - not saying it's over priced

Price depends on rarity / demand and what someone will pay. Price doesn’t seem too bad to be far. Sure someone will be along who wants / needs it. But know nowt about Z1R’s. Good luck with the sale.

Peter you spot on with the price IMO

there was a batch that went on sale around the tail end of 2017 and sold for around this Money some had good paint some not, I paid £400 for one in a very similar condition from a friend in November 2017

I have a batch of Paint on the waiting shelf that should be done mid to late April, I bet Sean the Painter would not mind doing a a few bits together if your buyer wanted it done at the same time just an option

Any one got a 23 ltr Z1R Tank they want to sell :fish

Thanks guys. I thought as I'd included the badges, filler cap and sender unit it was reasonably priced too. I told my painter to leave it in primer, as whoever buys it might want to match the colour / shade to the rest of their bike.

every days a school day, I did not know the Z1R Z1000S had a still bigger tank :eek

Just been reading in Tony Sculpher's Z1R book and he is thinking that the Z1000s has a 20ltr tank
the photos are not that clear to be able to tell it the fuel cap is round and not square albe it a silver one it does some how look a little different from the 20ltr tank

If there were only 200 or 11 as was rummer-ed Z1000S made its a very rear beast

ebay add
Sell used tank for the Z1R.
This is the very big tank as it was only offered in Germany for a short time for the Z1000S.

State:

Original, primed, must be cleaned / de-rusted inside, see pictures

The last pictures are only for comparison, offered only the primed, large tank!

More parts in my other auctions.

Private sale, without warranty, without guarantee, without return.

Foreign bidders outside the EU not listed: please ask for shipping cost before bidding !!

Selling a used fuel tank for Kawasaki Z1R.

Ultra rare large version. About 22 lt.
Note: this is NOT the medium size tank.

Those large ones have been labeled in small amounts for the "Z1000S" in Germany and have been replaced by the medium size tanks.

see here for a nice Z1000S example with such a tank:

3 tanks.jpg

http://nippon-classic.de/classic-bikes/ ... nd-kanten/

Condition: ready for painting, needs cleaning inside (some rust)! see pictures.

Please note: last pics are for comparison only, the painted small and the painted medium tank are not for sale!

See my other auctions for further parts.
Private sale, no guarranty, no returns

Before it goes on eBay, anyone interested at £395? Would rather it goes to a member, but it needs to go otherwise it'll rot in the loft for another 20 years!
