1976 KZ900 A4 for sale

#1 PostAuthor: JPK455 » Tue Apr 23, 2019 3:12 pm

15000.00 USD or 13,500.00 Euro
You will be hard pressed to find an untouched unrestored 1976 KZ 900 A4 3620 original miles in this condition
The only thing that is not original is the seat. It came with the King Queen seat which I do have and is in excellent condition. I also have the crash bar. I did put new tires on that closely resemble the factory tires. I do have the original tires and tubes that came on the bike from the factory and are in excellent condition. The pipes have zero rust, right side pipe has small dent in it, the yellow factory marks are still on the carb. The tool kit looks like it was made yesterday the gap gauge still has the plastic on it. I also have the original manuals and warranty card. Have lots of pictures available and a video.

I am New to this form but have been part of KZ Riders for USA 5 years.

Yes prices seem to be better in Europe than in USA and Canada and is the reason for marketing it on your Forum. Thanks for such an excellent platform for people to use.

Engine Vin Z1E 107035
Frame Vin Z1F 098998
Made In Japan

Bike is located on Vancouver Island Canada

Cheers John

Very nice and looks to be slightly better condition than mine.
However, I think your pricing is very much on the high side for a bike that's not in the UK (I'd say you are selling if for about what it'd be worth in the UK - based on sold prices I've seen).
Most people don't know how to import an bike or be bothered and it's in the not very popular brown. Most people would buy from the abroad to get a bike more cheaply than here.
If your price included shipping to the UK it might be more appealing to your average buyer.
Others opinions may vary.

Good luck with the sale - I'm interested but not at your asking price.

Keyster rebuild kits & carburettor spares - airscrews, jets, needles, starter plungers & gaskets.
Also petrol/ethanol proof float bowl gaskets. IMD pistons preferred seller.

Thanks for the input you know your market way better than I do. I have had some serious interest and you are correct that the Vat and import cost do add up.

I am not in a hurry to sell, Not many around in this stock condition or this low of miles. The cost to restore a bike is only going up.

I have some room to move to help with the cost. Need an offer first

Cheers JPK

Thanks for the info, real world and what there asking are two different things. Thats the reason why I posted on your website was because of seeing bikes advertised at a lot higher prices for less of a bike. Thanks for your honesty it helps me understand your market better.

Thanks for all the input to understand your market better and do to the input from the forum members

I will reduce the price to 11,500.00 Euro to reflect your shipping costs and import taxes. This is a firm price for this truly beautiful "Even being brown, green is a bad luck colour for motorcycles " unrestored piece of history.

Air Canada has a program that runs from May to September in shipping bikes from Vancouver to London and other locations in Europe.

I will drop bike off at Airport and help with the dangerous goods documents you will need to attain.

I called Air Canada Cargo and approximate cost is 1500.00 CDN plus about 250.00 CDN to get the dangerous goods certificate for shipping.

I have attached the link.

very helpful, basically £11000 to buy & ship to the uk ,then we got the import tax etc which im not sure about ,nice bike . bit the timing could be wrong ,but you only need 1 buyer.the zeds which are in short supply over here are the cheep project ones which have probably all been restored or are in the prosses of.even the dealers who ship em over are struggling to sell em .probably cause there trying for max profit ,greedhttps://shippio.com/import-motorcycles-from-the-usa/

reading that then its 5%of the bikes value +shipping costs

For clarity, import VAT is 5% of the cost of bike plus the sea shipping. You also have the cost to get the bike to port in the USA and then from the UK port to home.
I'd expect the entire shipping and VAT to cost about £1500.

Bike has been sold for 14000.00 US. Went to a great home, now the hunt for the next diamond in the old barn begins. Cheers

Import VAT to UK is only 5% ?

I thought import-VAT it is same as normal VAT. In Germany: 19%

Didn´t you mixed that up with import duties? That might be 5%

If import VAT is only 5% in UK, would be interesting to import bikes to Germany via UK. Before brexit, of course.

BTW: that seat looks odd

If the bike is over 30 years old then import duty is 5%.

Correct, but the 5% VAT is charged the sale price of the bike plus the cost of the sea shipping.
