I've owned this bike since 1992 - That's some 24 years......blimey, how time flies!
During this time it's been through many stages - from original spec restoration to what you see now.
I always wanted one as a teenager back in the day when all my mates' big brothers had them and I loved the way they were modded from almost the day they bought them.
I guess this is why I ended up taking this to the classic modded spec it is here, trying to keep it retro without the usual modern USD forks & ZRX swingarm etc(nothing at all wrong with those, but I preferred the period spokes/RWU/JMC route).

All round built to be a balanced bike where the brakes and handling can match the uprated engine - built for practicality and everyday use if required.
The bike flies; it has 106bhp on tap so it goes as good as it looks.
Starts on the button & runs with no problems.
Tickover's a little lumpy due to the state of tune, but I've used it to occasionally commute in London and it's not an issue. It'll sit there just burbling.... and being menacing!
Has a full MOT.
Worth noting from a practical point of view is that although it has clip-ons, there are blanking holes for bar risers in the top yoke to put standard bars on if required - these will be supplied.
Also, the rear part of the Marving exhaust can swivel down and the original pillion rests(included) be re-fitted should two-up riding be necessary.

Goodridge brake & clutch hoses(black)
5/8" offset front drive sprocket(new)

H-D rebuilt starter motor.
Moriwaki points cover(new)
Engine casings Smethurst ceramic polished.

RUNNING GEAR:
5.5" rear /3.5"front alloy wheel rims with stainless spokes on original Smethurst ceramic processed Z1000 hubs.
180 rear/120 front tyres - barely worn.
Ohlins piggyback shocks.
ZZR1100 polished 42mm forks.
ZZR1100 top/bottom yoke with Z1000 stem
JMC swing arm
Brembo front calipers with billet adaptor plates - Ducati SPS spec
Brembo front f/floating discs - Ducati SPS spec
ZXR1100 front brake perch /mastercylinder
Brembo rear caliper - Ducati SPS spec
Brembo rear disc - Ducati SPS spec

With so many new parts, the overall condition is excellent. The frame was powdercoated some years ago and retains it's deep lustre.
The paintwork looks fine but does have the odd blemish from over the years - still looks the part tho.
Speaking to Bob Farnham, he mentioned that with a wider bore/ free-er flowing exhaust he'd be able to get nearly 10bhp more but I had a louder one on before and found it just too loud for me(I must be getting old!!)

Similar stance to a Jota and would probably give one a good run for it's money
- especially with those brakes and tyres.

I like it a lot because it is not over done
