Loads of the small ones about not so many of these
Re: Z1r long range tank
hi Bill I paid around £550 for one that needs painting, apart from not coming up for sale very often
I would of thought north of £800 if its got all the bits a little more
hope that helps

Re: Z1r long range tank
Interesting.....
When I had my Shed the opposite seemed true, ie original small tanks were the more valuable as no one wanted the fugly big tank as it ruined the bikes lines.

I think someone told me that the big tanks were a free upgrade offered by Kawasaki because everyone complained about the range. The small ones went into the loft which is why there are a few mint ones about.

Was chatting to a guy a couple of years ago who used to work at a Kawasaki main Dealer back in the 80's, he said when they closed and were clearing the shop and were jumping up & down on unopened boxes with NOS large Z1R tanks inside so as to get more stuff in the Skip!.

The larger tank was an upgrade, it came with the sintered brake pads and if I remember correctly was about £50 , the brakes were and still are rubbish in the wet, not the great in the dry. I bought the kit.

Only my opinion. Stick it on the bay and it'll find it's value.....

Remember though, Asking is one thing - getting is quite another.

Also several dealers offered the Z1R Special with the big tank and brakes as an official model in 79 alongside the std Z1R, for £1995.
