The old seats are a bugger to get out.
Every one is different and I have an arsenal of purpose made weapons, cutters and picks to remove them.
Some come out in one piece but most don't want to play and can take 20 mins or so to extract.
The whole process is a tricky job and I've just spent the last couple of days re-designing and machining a lubricated insertion tool to make squeezing the Viton equivalent of 10lbs of spuds into a 5lb bag a little bit easier and more consistent.

Massive thanks to Rob for doing mine too. I haven't run them yet, but I can feel a noticeable (audible) difference when testing how the individual plungers seat in the carb bodies. Quick service, expertly engineered, superb.

A little advise for anyone sending their plungers from overseas.( Also added to the first post ).

Please be sure to send them marked as a GIFT and declare either zero or a low value.
Anything marked as a gift valued at over £39 attracts vat which has to be paid before the package is released and will have to be added to YOUR cost and anything marked commercial over £15 suffers the same charges.

They should be sent to me bare with the springs etc removed.

I recommend they are taped to a piece of card to secure them on their journey.

A bit of an update on the plunger re-seating.
Service extended to all Mikuni choke plungers with rubber seated tips, which is pretty much all Mikuni choke plungers..
This is not confined to just slide carbs but also CV's and includes most Kawasaki ,Suzuki and Yamaha machines both classic and modern two stroke and four strokes.
Price remains at £12.50 per plunger + return post tracked and signed worldwide.

Rob has just fitted a set of the new Viton seals to the choke plungers out of my Z1000 MKII carbs (Mikuni VM28SS)
I have to say that Rob has done a really nice neat job & with a very quick turnaround.
Very impressed & highly recommended!

Just received my set of 4 VM28SC choke plungers back from Rob. I thought he'd replaced them with brand new ones as they look absolutely pristine.

I posted them to him on Tuesday 6th and got them back this morning (Friday 9th).

Cannot rate his service highly enough, and together with the excellent advice he offers on this forum makes him, IMHO, a top man.

Thanks Rob.

These really work. My A1 Z1000 is now smooth at tick over and picks up readily from a closed throttle. I had replaced all other parts in the carbs but it was still running poorly until I fitted Rob’s upgrade. Now my bike runs as clean as it looks. An absolutely necessary upgrade for old plungers!
Super fast return.
Very pleased, thank you.

I guess Rob is still providing this service?

I had a set of plungers refurbished by Rob back in the spring. They didn't look bad but I had persistent bad fuelling at low rpm, flat spot, dirty plugs and I'd run out of ideas, so i thought I'd try getting the plungers refurbished. I received the refurbished plungers back looking like new within 4 days of posting them.

The bike was in bits for other reasons for much of the summer, but now she's running again so Ive been able to test the new plungers.

Result is that there is a huge improvement. Much happier and smoother, nut brown plugs, no flat spots or grumpy idle. Feels like a different bike.

Highly recommended. Many thanks Rob.
