Z1000J for sale - PROJECT - (to say the least!) NOW SOLD

#1 PostAuthor: norsewood » Tue Apr 05, 2022 6:44 pm

Well, I'm in the process of sorting out my garage prior to the house going on the market, and I've come to the sad realization that I have too many projects and at least one has to go.
I've decided that I'm not going to get round to turning this Z1000J into an ELR this side of the nursing home, so it needs to go to someone who can make use of it.
As you will see from the photographs you will not be able to jump on and ride her home.......
Here's the story.
I bid on this by mistake as I was after an engine for a monoshocked Z1B rolling chassis that I'd accidentally won on Evilbay. Only to find out when I went to pick it up that it was a J engine and wasn't going to slot straight in. When I picked it up the owner handed over the rest of what you see in the pictures. The frame it came with had been chopped to within an inch of it's life as the guy was going to build some kind of street beast (?!) and was basically scrap - so I picked up another frame which had been powder coated and decided I was going to build an replica ELR. Seemed like a good idea as the engine had an 1170 Wiseco big bore kit fitted only a few years before. I started getting more bits - good straight forks, yokes and then family health issues meant that the garage was the last place I was spending time. So it's been sitting in the garage for too many years and needs to go as soon as possible.
The engine turns, the frame is straight and powder coated, forks and yokes are all good, new head bearings, Koni Dial-a-rides and I have the V5. Calipers are in the box, and there's a DYNA ignition under the cover as can be seen in one of the photos. There's a crate of electrical parts - God knows what's there, but handlebar switches abound!
Anyways, the beastie is up for sale. What you see is what you get.
Haven't got a clue what it's worth, so I'll put a price on it of £3,000 ONO :lbb
