Kawasaki Z1000 A1

#1 PostAuthor: gordon62 » Thu Oct 27, 2022 6:15 pm

Hello Again,

Many of you may have seen the original For Sale thread that I posted earlier this year:

viewtopic.php?f=1&t=49440&p=405395#p405395

I am back again listing my fathers beloved Z1000 because I would like it to go to someone in this community who has a passion for these bikes especially now the bike has been recommissioned.

I have updated the dropbox link below to show the bike in it's current condition and have a short video showing the bike running, however it is very short because unfortunately someone started talking to me, so my apologies.

Some of you may remember his posts here and I have included his rebuild thread which will help give depth to this ad. I do not know the full ins and outs but I have folders invoicing all the work done as well as the dyno reports when the bike was tuned professionally in 2021 before he stored it.

I am unfortunately due to current circumstances unable to host viewings for the bike but will take all interest seriously and answer any questions that I can. I cannot deliver the bike and it will require collection from Southampton.

My price is £11,000

Number of Former Keepers: 3

Previously Registered/Used Overseas – Registered First in the UK 1995

Mileage: 20,626

Last MOT: Aug 2022 - MOT was done once recommissioned.

Thread Detailing Work done up till 2017 - viewtopic.php?f=7&t=23109

Link to Photos: https://www.dropbox.com/sh/s3otvh8g0kto ... nrcLa?dl=0

The Kawasaki has under gone a full rebuild as detailed in the thread and further images can be provided to show the work done that's not shown in the thread.

· Engine Rebuild – Cases Blasted, Valves Cleaned, Polished, Seated and Laped

· Carbs - stripped, cleaned, vapour blasted, and had a new full carb kit fitted, and all metal parts re-zinc during rebuild

· Tanks, Panels Re-Painted – Tank Lines Hand Painted

· Metal Work Re-Zinced

· Wheels – Re-chromed and Rebuilt

· Seat Recovered

· Original Clocks Refurbished by Al Marshall

Sadly the bike wasn't running when previously listed and left those interested unsure but now the bike has been recommissioned and is running I believe it can truly reflect its value and the interest that has been shown.

Don't think Andy M's post was particularly helpful, but the price is in the ballpark, good luck!

Hi Warren, that’s my KZ900 museum piece!.all sorted now.
I saw this Z1000 when it was still partly in boxes.
I’ve always fancied a Z1000 as a run around, as you know!
Wondered if it was still for sale.

I had a Z650, for a while, which I probably should have kept!

I’m currently commissioning an Aprilia Tuono V4, which will tick a few boxes, but you can never have enough Zeds!
