1979 T plate z1000
Thinking of selling my z1000. Not actually sure what model it is but happy to discuss details with anyone that’s interested. Runs well, rides well and looks reasonable. 1979 bike that spent its first 20 years in the US. Think it maybe a LTD edition that was changed over the years.60 odd thousand on clock. £4000 ish..

Its got to be worth that price to somebody !
Mileage is a bit high BUT it is a UK registered bike which is a big plus in its favour.
Looks like you have a USA built Z1000 B4 Ltd (late 1979) - with changed parts including a Z1000 A2 petrol tank. Lots of Ltd's got modified in this way here in the UK.
These bikes came from the factory with the Z1000 Mk2 type motor as standard and also Mk2 front forks and brakes.
Nice bike ! Good luck with the sale !

Thanks Dave. I did check eng/frame numbers years ago and think I recall it being a LTD as you say. It’s a great bike but I hardly ride anymore due to an injury. Have my Westie kit car for adrenaline rush but it’s not the same. Age creeps up on you I’m afraid.

The bottom half of that engine is a MK2 engine, the top half is a standard z1000, the MK2 front engine casing is slightly different, it has a wee bump on both sides just at the engine mount and thats what you are seeing.

Zetec engined on Jenvey throttle bodies. Stage 2 cams and other stuff. Making 190 bhp and weighs 580 kgs. It’s fun but not a bike…
