Z900 a4 Air Box complete

#1 PostAuthor: Dero » Sun Oct 06, 2024 5:06 pm

Good evening all,
I have an Air Box, Filter, Snorkel Filter and carb rubber connectors for sale to fit a Z900 a4 if anyone is interested in them.
I can take photos and send them on if anyone is interested.
I would like in the region of £500 for the package (which is less than I paid for them)

I live in Devon but can box it up and send it if required.

Thank you for reading the Ad,
Derrick

Given the backside has fell out of the Classic Bike market I wonder if the same applies to the classic bike 'parts' market?..

Its crazy how a piece of plastic like the snorkel specifically can command the kind of prices that they are. I was at Irelands largest vintage breakers/workshop on Saturday and had just bought a complete system (rubbers, box and snorkel ) for the Z1r and it was all in 200 euro door to door from the states. He said he had one and was looking for 500 for it. I'm surprised none has coped on yet to make an aftermarket part..

Didn't a guy in Australia start making the silencer, and I'm sure I've seen some available for sale in Germany.

I'll see how my bike runs without the silencer first, if it needs it I'll make something.

No snorkel on mine either, been mono shocked hence no space for it , runs perfect maybe a bit noisier on intake but Harris 4-1 cancels that out.

my guess is, if its just a silencer then in theory it should run ok.

Thats one of the reasons they are so rare now, back in the days most believed they served no real purpose or sounded better without them. They got binned or stored in a wee box in the attic.

Some spare parts maybe rare now but I think the market has depressed a bit, as with second hand bikes. Its a bit much to ask 20% the price of a complete bike for a supposedly hard to find bit. Seen some standard-ish later Z's have been selling for sub 2.5K recently.
