I picked up a Ducati 900 Superlight project a couple of months ago. Now I have it running right I love the thing!

Re: Talking Italian.....
Neither, it's an early Strada with bits on it, would probably be worth more if I put it back to standard but I like it how it is.

Nice! Always fancied a Jota
Re: Talking Italian.....
I'd not heard of a Cropredy before, it sounds like something a farmer would buy to tow behind a tractor, but it is rather lovely.
Many years ago, I went with a mate to Whitchurch one night, he wanted to buy a Jota but wanted me to take a look at it first. The guy selling it agreed to let me take a test ride, and behind the estate where he lived was a very long straight piece of main road. After I'd been gone a while, my mate said that the seller became a bit nervous, then they heard a distant roar get suddenly very loud, then quickly fade again as I went by on the main road at around 125 mph, lying flat on the tank! When I came back it was covered in dead flies and pinging with the heat back in the guys garage - I told my mate to buy it!
He later lent it to me to go drag racing (like true friends do!) at Long Marston during the first ever Bulldog Bash. After a crazy ride down, hitting over 130mph two up with camping gear, I did a 12.5 second standing quarter on the drag strip, 100 mph+ terminal speed. Despite beating another Jota (they always go faster if they aren't yours, like hire cars) and a big BMW I didn't win the European class I was racing in, as I got trounced in the final by a beautiful Bimota, with a Z1000 engine, I think. Although super fast I did hate riding it round Stratford on Avon in heavy traffic, as all my weight seemed to be on my wrists, and the clutch was very heavy. That's probably why I turned down a later chance to buy it for £1,600, with the benefit of hindsight not my best financial decision.
The same guy later lent me a Ducati 916 Superlight, but that's another story...
