1980 GS1000G a good bike?

#1 PostAuthor: hanskloss » Thu Jul 19, 2012 10:31 pm

my mate is looking for a budget classic and there is a GS1000G available locally, not as good looking as GS1000E, but this one is all original and working, advertised for less than 800 GBP so probably worth it, are they any good ?

Looks good to me.

Get rid of those monsterous accesories on ebay and it will be a very cheap bike :)

GS1000G = perfect bike for a daily long distance commuter (or the like).

Only flawed thing on the GS'es is the electrical bits, but that can be solved with a new reg-rect unit and a little re-wire (or you just don't turn off the lights).

Cheers,
Greg
