On the news last night, all the site scan was showing was a large metal presence somewhere below ground....they had not been able to determine if it definately was any sort of plane, let alone Spitfires ....
Why do I persist in debating with idiots ? I really should know better
Let's hope so, there are far too few of our iconic aircraft such as the Spitfire and the Lancaster left, it amazes me how we allowed that to happen.
My fingers are crossed.
Post WW2 there were a number of historic ships in Portsmouth harbour that dated back to the Napoleonic era. the Navy towed them out to sea & used them for target practice
All thats left is HMS Trincomalee (1817) in Hartlepool & HMS Gannet in Chatham
What a tressure !!!!! I just love those planes.... Best ever made
unfortunately the nearest I come one of this planes is what you see at the pictures every summer there is a show at the strip next to where I live and this old fighters are showing off, but they are cool guys and let me take pictures of my bikes together with them
