I've nearly finished my winter project Kettle resto: just a couple of final pieces: clocks are at a Guru's and Tank is with Simon Flying Tiger to work his magic. Then, hopefully come Spring, she will be burbling around the country lanes of deepest Lincolnshire.

Just got myself a 1979 Z1300 A1 to practise my polishing skills on - that should keep me busy :D :D

Oh how I loved my GT750 back in the early 1980's - fitted a set of chrome Allspeeds and it sounded fookin' fantastic

Would love another one - some day
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

Just finished my Kettle resto, now nice and shiny: on her maiden voyage the RH indicators packed up - but I guess it could have been a lot worse

Here she is minus the one dead indicator

ZedHead: re Kettles, spares are not too bad to get hold of, there are a couple of long standing Suzuki dealers with a big range of Classic Parts, and its helped that Suzuki Japan saw the interest in classics with a potential revenue stream, and started re-producing 1500 Vintage Parts mainly for Kettles and RGV250's. Not sure why Kwak dont do the same ??

There are also some good established merchants about with loads of NOS & pattern stuff.

Cheers

I love the contrast with those black side panels on the kettle, reminds me of my youth and my GT380.

The Zed engine though, :mi Come winter, I am going to have to get mine looking like that.

After a wee mishap, I decided to bling up my Kettle resto: treated her to a new Flake Orange paint job: looks really nice in the flesh !

When I collected my paint work, there was a Z1 paint set awaiting collection: it was Black Metalic and Lime Green: looked stunning  - wondered if it was it anyione from on here ??
