Bit of an update, started the engine rebuild, all gone well so far, hopefully we should have the diffs ready soon, had new tyres fitted to the wheels. Should be a roller in January.
We have a year left until he is 16 and can start driving!

Still going on the engine, nearly finished, the timing was a complete tw@t to get right but we got there in the end.
Should be finished in the next day or so.
Diffs, fully rebuilt, new bearings, seals, front swivel joints basically bran new.
Dropped them off at the painters this morning, should have a rolling chassis by the weekend.

Hit a Mile stone this morning, all Christmas holidays we've been coming in only to be hit with set backs, first one was forgetting to order the U-bolts, had a 220km round trip to buy some, then having a couple of nuts missing, obviously being a Land Rover they were strange a strange size so after visiting a few nut & bolt shops we finally found some!
Couple of hours this morning and we now have a rolling chassis, two fully rebuilt diffs, a complete new braking system all on repainted wheels with new tyres!
We have 12 months to get her up and running and some learners plates displayed!

Bit of an update, engine is finished apart from the intake and exhaust manifold but that will be fitted when the engine is in the chassis, this will hopefully happen this weekend.
The body has gone away, the first job is to remove all the Gal bit to have them redone, then the body gets blasted and then back to old Harry to be made new!
Here's some pictures anyway

Although I'd much rather have my own cold, damp, cramped, unheated garage to work in...... honest!.
Its been a killer the last two weeks and they reckon it will hit 38 degs on Sunday, I hate summer and I mean that, its shite. It lasts a couple of months and then the rest of the year is ace.
Love winter, 25-28 of a day and then a low 12-14 of a night, perfect.
I've bought another Land Rover, this one is a County, down here they fitted the Isuzu 3900cc truck engine in them and Range Rover running gear including the 5 speed box, pick it up on Friday! Pricing up Turbos at the moment

Re: One way to get the lad off the bloody computer
Been a few weeks, haven't posted due to two steps forward and several back
Went to fit the exhaust and inlet manifold on last week and cracked the aluminium inlet manifold, had a spare but it needed blasting so off it went to my mates who made it look new.
Yesterday we went into work, I refitted the manifolds and mounted the carb while Harry and his mate removed the glass from the rear canopy, they didn't break any as well which is a bonus.
Next job is the gearbox, we have two so hopefully while be able to make one good one out of them. Going to hand this job to a gearbox expert!

Well its time for a bit of body!
All the gal bit have been removed, all the glass has been removed now its time for blasting!
Two piles, smaller pile is for just blasting as that pile will be hand sanded and then sent to the galvanisers, the other pile will be wet blasted and lightly primed then sent to "old Harry" who will do his magic on the panels. The transmission will also be ready at some point next week!
