Non Zed winter project finished

Bought an RD350 as a winter project; was an alleged "genuine" low miler in very good original condition, and to be fair to the seller she was a very clean bike, with most the resto being to put right the dents she picked up in shipping. I tried to keep her as original as possible, fitted new bearings, bushes, tyres chain etc etc. a wee bit of chroming and a lot of polishing and detailing. She seems a nice little bike, so plan on putting a few miles on her before deciding if she's off on evilBay or staying in the garage.

well smart that!
There was a nice metallic green one in a bike shop window down here a while back which took me back forty odd years every time I drove past it.

Seem to remember they had an even worse handling Rep than a H1 back in the day.

Don't know where that came from Garry? I had a 350A that handled really well, decent tyres and rear shocks and they would keep up with most things twice the capacity up to 100mph or through the twisty bits :D :D

Nice resto by the way Tim :D :D

My mate Ian Hart had one back in the day, he with me on the back took it for a spin before he was road legal, as you did back then, no helmets etc, anyway we fell off it, bugger, completely ruining a new trendy out fit my mother had bought me for my birthday, she never found out, bless her.

Guy up the road from me had a very second hand one circa 78, which he binned whenever there was a day in the month. He ended up PX'ing it for an RE5 (first and only one I have ever seen on the Rd). He then quickly swapped this for an A8 which he said handled much better and was much quicker than the RD.

Haha, it must have been bad if he said a KH handled better :D I can understand the speed bit with the extra 150cc. RD's were never that quick on top end maybe 105 tops. I had one of the very last 400's that was an ex-proddy racer, gearing was wrong on it but it was only marginally quicker than the 350, just much torquier.

Whilst sitting out my 6 month ban (1981), I tarted up my RD250... fitted 350 ported barrels & 400 pistons (from an ex-proddy racer) and it went like holy fook! still only just topped 100mph as same gearing, but would power wheely in 2nd gear everytime
