..... well not really!.
Spotted a 71 H1A for sale near me last week, and even though I wasn't really looking I thought I'd pop over and have a butchers. Turns out it's a Gen UK three owner bike and even has MOT's going back to the 70's... so thought why not?.
Needs a few wrong bits swapping out and the usual 'Treatment' but otherwise is a half decent bike...

And with her younger Sister (amazing the difference a year makes)....

....and the H1C parts-bin as well.
The A is a April 71 'Reg' UK only points model. The D is a Oct 72 'Build', but for demonstration purposes I'll overlook a few months and build v Reg dates.
Interestingly of all the Zeds and Triples I've owned the H1A is the only gen UK bike, all t'others have been imports (mostly Yank) which perhaps says something for the classic market in the UK.

After a couple of weeks work she's now looking much more like....

Loving the Candy Blue.
Note the twin leading shoes which differ from the later Single Disc Zeds and Triples in that they actually work.
Mudguards are the original Stainless items which had a few marks and the usual swirling, however with a medium cut polish and a few passes with the PC they came up fantastic which wouldn't have happened with Chrome.
Still a bit more to do but hopefully some riding time first.

It's the usual double edged sword...
Prices for these old Oil burners seem to have gone strataspheric in the last 6 months. Bid on a nice KH400 A4 for a mate a couple of weeks ago, he really liked it so stuck £5.1K in thinking that'll more than cover it.... it made over £6.5K!.
You do wonder where it will all end and this bubble MUST burst at some point, however we've been saying this for the last 5 years yet it still get's bigger and sillier every year.
