It's pretty good - I reckon that it had been restored \ rescued in France and then brought over unregistered to the UK by one of the import specialists. The guy I bought it off was an old gent who took a shine to it but then ran into poor health. I saw his ad for it and thought 'That can't be right'. Showed it to my wife who said 'Buy it - you would be mad not to'. So I did.
Fortunately it was pretty local and I spotted the add as soon as it went up. It wasn't running when I picked it up (Head and barrel was off) but to be honest there is not much to them. Cleaned out the carb and refitted the head etc and away she went. There is something to be said for the smaller bikes - not least that they are easier to lump around the garage without dropping a bollock every time I need to move them.
I view it a bit like carbon offsetting - it sort of counter balances the equation with the weight of the Z and the Bonneville
Thanks all for the comments - it's all a bit of fun.
