Gents,
Does anyone know of a group/forum/club that would be able to help with old Eastern Bloc motorcycles?
I've been offered a late 1960s SHL Gazela M17, a 175cc Polish bike. Found pics on the internet with some specs, but no detailed info.
I know it's an ugly MoFo to a lot of people, but I like it: very MZ Trophy.
It takes all sorts...

Don't feel strange or unusual about buying an MZ.... I knew someone once who actually bought a CX500.

I’m sorry to say but I have two CX500’s

One of them is probably the earliest known survivor and is frame number 22 fitted with engine number 28.

They are quirky but easy to ride!

I’m a closet CX fan too. Back in the 80s I was in the cops and did the advanced bike course. Week 2 was spent riding CX500s and despite the amount of ridicule they received I think they’re a good bike. I’d like to add one to the garage at some point

As I’ve said I have two of them. Both identical in every way, one early one and one a little later.

They’re a decent bike to ride and very comfortable!

I have two of them because they were part of a whole deal. I wanted the early one but had to buy them both or none. They were both basket cases in bits and had been stood for 35 years!

Each man to his own eh!!

I used to commute on a CX way back in my youth. An excellent bike for those duties.
Good to see some that are original and not butchered into a cafe racer or worse...

I used to ride pillion on a CX500 to Cardiff from Bristol, used to fall asleep and 'nut' the back of the riders helmet regularly.

CX500 - Plastic Maggot - HATE THEM.............

Reason being; back in 1980 I was out on my first Z900A4, girlfriend on the back (squashed into the 2:4 seat ) and I was scraping the Zed on a large roundabout (bike was wobbling all over the shop) when a CX500 wafts past on the outside of me I was well miffed
