the world HAS gone mad...
Re: Maggot...
Nowt wrong with the CX! It’s horses for courses for sure and the number of them being chopped up to make “cafe racers” means that they are getting low in numbers.
They were very popular back in the day amongst despatch riders as they were so reliable.
I’ve got two of them in the stable, one of which is probably the earliest surviving example which was owned by Hodna U.K. from new. It’s the 22nd one ever made and is really nice to ride.
It wouldn’t do for us to all like the same things!
Sorry about these photos on this hallowed ground!

Re: Maggot...
I restored two of these last year, both exactly the same in every detail except that one was very early and the second one is a couple of thousand later.
I’ve just recently done a very socially distanced sale on the second bike and that’s going to a good home just a couple of miles from me!
It gives me a bit of space in the garage!

Re: Maggot...
Nice bike... people pay over 20k for a Z like that
Re: Maggot...
It may be crazy,(and I don’t necessarily disagree)but...... it has cost me about 12 grand thus far. Yes, things got out of hand and I did plan to keep it for ever but times change and things have to move on. If you want the best CX out there then it’s cheap at half what it cost!
Bet you never expected a response from the owner.....
Ps check out the one on eBay at £10750....!

Was less a slight on the bike and more a comment on the crazy prices that even average mid range bikes of the day are now commanding. Given the current madness in the world you'd think these comedy asking prices would have fallen off a cliff - but it seems the opposite is true.
It seems the old Car Salesmen adage is true - For every Seat there's an Arse.

Should have kept your Z1000H - would have been a lot cheaper.....
Good luck with the sale....

I assume its the prize you are referring to.
What would be not Crazy for this particular bike?

Re: Maggot...
Apologies to Jonathon the owner for the opinions of a few .. I still like it and would love it in my garage , horses for courses there are far worse pricings going on out there and I am slightly bemused by the hatred for this bike?
