Central France short stay stop over
We bought a town house in our village that hadn't been lived in for 15 years. We've been renovating it for the past year and it's nearly finished. We've decided to let it as a short stay stop over. It could equally be used as a base camp while touring the region.
Here is a little about it and some photos.
Situated in the quiet village of Crevant, opposite the Church, out accommodation offers a welcome rest, a stocked kitchen upon request for your arrival, a drying area for leathers, helmets and boots and a secure lockable motorcycle barn. The dimensions of the barn are 2.1m at it's narrowest point (the entrance), 3.3m and it's widest, total length 7m. The house has central heating and can accommodate up to four people. The bedroom on the ground floor has two single beds. The bedroom upstairs has a double bed (an additional single can be added) if needed. On the ground floor there is a kitchen/diner equipped with a fridge, double electric hob, oven, kettle and coffee maker. A shower room with WC. The house has free wifi (it doesn't have a TV or washing machine). Outside there is a small seating area and entrance to the cellar which also has a bench if you need to escape fro the sun on very hot days. Although the house is non smoking, the courtyard, cellar and motorcycle barn are smoking areas. Please let us know if you are a smoker so we can put ashtrays out.
A few notes on the house.
The oldest part of the house dates from the 15th century and many additions and modifications have been made over the centuries. The church bells chime on the hour and can make you jump, but they don't chime during the night. The doorways are quite low, about 5'10", handy to bear in mind if you're on the taller side. The roof in the cellar is also about 5'10" in the centre, its entrance is lower, so please mind your head.
It's a traditional, and we think, quite charming dwelling, full of history, which we hope would provide some welcome respite for travellers on a long journey.
Pricing
All bedding, towels, shower gel and ladies toiletries are provided along with tea, coffee, sugar and milk.
There is no minimum stay requirement
The following rates are all year round (per night)

Spot on and good luck with your new venture
Re: Central France short stay stop over
Just waiting on the kitchen units to turn up at the end of the month now.
If anyone wants to share the ad with non zed friends or maybe non PUM's it's now live here
https://www.gites.co.uk/the-travellers-rest/l.1312
The ad has been written for the general public and not geared towards bikers but they'll get an idea.
Thanks for the nice responses. Never know, now that the world is turning the right way up, from a covid point of view at least, we may even get a booking.

Hi Pete
when I see the pictures of your house I realise why you have no time to work on your bikes!
You did a beautiful job, congratulations !

the differences between a little boy and an adult man is the price and size of their toys!
Re: Central France short stay stop over
It's done.
I've fitted the kitchen, missus has furnished it, ready to go.
Just waiting on the EDF to upgrade the leccy supply so all the toys can be used at the same time, RDV 6 May. A chap from 4RC bike club is coming over on the 10th to test it.

Looks very nice.
Not sorted anything for the summer so will discuss with my wife.
Do you have anywhere we can see where you are already booked up? Or is it email and discuss?

It shows the calendar for availability at the bottom of the page but come directly to us via email or pm if you or anyone else on here is interested.
Thanks for your interest and kind comments.

Re: Central France short stay stop over
Leccy was upped to 12KW the other week so everything can be used, induction hob, kettle, water heater, hairdryer etc. etc. at the same time as opposed to a drill.
Unfortunately our first biker who was going to test it couldn't come over for health reasons. We have had a a couple of people stay and they were very pleased to the point her sister is coming next month, a Dutch couple also and we've already had a booking for Xmas. These are local folk visiting family.
We are updating the above 'non pum' link regarding bookings but If you'd like to come over PM me the dates. Some of the dates crossed out are for my son who is unsure exactly when he will arrive.

Re: Central France short stay stop over
Unfortunately not had any motorbikes in the garage yet so I moved a couple of mine in, put some extra lighting in with provisional wiring......and a sign I 'found' nearly 30 years ago
All visitors have been relatives of locals and a dutch couple cycling.
Prices remain unchanged at the moment.
It would be great to have someone else's bike in there, it would have to learn French though!
