Kept my REX standard as poss... but thats just me.

The problem I found when I was looking was nearly every bike I looked at had been modified to some degree, it was just a sea of Nasty After Market Exhausts and cheap Chinese LED indicators. That said some bikes had clearly had serious cash thrown at them with Quality Suspenders and engine upgrades, trouble was sellers were asking a premium for these bikes when all I was interested in was Standard.

Yours is a beautiful early ultra low mile original bike and that's where it's value lies.

Many people junk them.
My Rex is heavily modified but I have all the standard parts.
Standard bikes in mint condition command the highest prices.

My recent purchase has led indicators, rear light, pod filters and a stubby exhaust. I do have all the bits th put it back to standard save the exhaust but it does have a spare Beowulf. I’ll need to get standard Jets though.
Seller thinks he’s got them somewhere

Be aware that with some "pod kits" the manufacturer of the kit (Dynojet etc) require the slides to be drilled. If you refit the standard airbox, diaphragm spings, needles and jets then it may run a bit wooly just above idle.

Use K&N or APE pods and you simply swap the MJ and needle supplied with the dynojet kit.

Having finally sorted the brake issue I had, new discs needed, plus a new set of tyres I managed a few miles. It’s a fun thing to ride. I’ve come to the conclusion I’m going to leave the set up as is as it runs well. Very happy
