Having spent a year planning a trip to Norway with Garth (GotaZ1B), we missed the ferry to Esbjerg because I got the time wrong... so over to Hook of Holland and a 650m ride to Fredrikshavn (in 7 hours) to get the ferry to Gothenburg. Once back on schedule we left Gothenburg and rode to Oslo to be met by Morten Berg

Image

Followed by a quick trip to see Roger Gran's latest addition to his collection of 70s/80s Kawasakis

Image

The inside of the barn is interesting too - Jan Petter Holme joined us for the afternoon
Image

Then to the Aker Brygge for dinner

Image

After a chill out day, the tour started the following dayImage

"Mr Gadget" gets the video fixedImage

Then to the Trollstiggen - so good we rode it 3 times...Image

We stayed in cabins near the fjords - this was at Geraingerfjiord

Image

The next day up early for a ferry crossing and Garth talks to the only person around

Image

Turns out to be the Captain who invites us onto the bridge Image

And you get the best view from there...Image

Then over the mountains where some of the lakes were still frozenImage

Arriving at Balestrand for our next overnight stop - this was taken at 1.00am in the morningImage

The next day on to a Stavkirke...

Image

Then past the jondalsbreenen glacier fieldImage

Some of the snow was still 3-4 metres deepImage

Then onto Bergen for the next stayover - and to chill with a beer but it costs £7 a pintImage

The view from the Flionbanen is stunning

Image

Then south the next day to Jorpeland Image

Then through Telemark to Kristiansand for the last night of our stayImage

Waiting for the ferry in Esbjerg this turned upImage

Overnight back to Harwich and home the next morning - 2250 miles for the tripImage

This was a few of the pictures - thanks to Garth for being a brilliant travelling companion and thanks to our good friends in Norway for their incredible generosity with their time and their hospitality. We were accompanied throughout the trip by Morten and Roger who were the best guides in Norway. :D and as a result we rode some of the finest motorcycle roads I have ever seen...

We did a trip over there last week as well, seven of us on bikes ranging from BMW RGS1200 (Great tool, no soul) Gsxr1000 (Fast and un-catchable), XR1200 Harley (reliable did a good job) Tl1000r (fast loud and yellow), Hornet 600 (H£$%nda!!!), zx12r (fast, fast, and crashed), Harley custom chop (300 rear end and entertaining and unreliable).

Some left from Harwich on the ferry and couple of us road around from Calais and I completed 3571.8 miles in 7 days.

We went up the east past oslo and North to Trondheim and onwards upto the Arctic circle, then back down the west atlantic highway Trollisteim, etc.

Loads of pics and videos here:-

Highlights of the trip,

Norway stunningly beautiful country, no traffic!

Trip to a+e when my mate was told he was going to die on the way to Calais if he did'nt get his blood results sorted!

Blasting thorough Europe to get to Hirtshalls ferry terminal! (After losing 6 hours at a+e)

Everywhere AND EVERYTHING (other than the prices ) In NORWAY!

Making it to the Arctic,

Crashing me bike!

Fixing the Chop everywhere,

Ferry crashing into Harwich Dock and puncturing the hull!!

Thanks to Morten for his map and advice they were really useful and the roads he sent us on absolutely stunning!

Brilliant trip but one word of advice for anyone thinking of going.

DONT! you might ruin it for the rest of us if everyone starts going there!
