The Z1 has just reached 500 miles since the engine rebuild so did a oil change yesterday and took it out on a75 mile round trip to Box Hill this morning. Beautiful day and the bike rode great! Some nice bikes including a nice Benelli 750 Sei import from South Africa, a Vincent HRD and Kawasakis past and present with a KH500 my Z1 and the new £40k Supercharged H2. Passed a beautiful white/ yellow T160 Trident on the rode as well

I love the Z1A, in its natural habitat, out in the sun. :D

What a great looking Z1A!

Ahhh, Box Hill - that takes me back to the mid-70s when we used to have a run out most Sundays from Brentford, West London and when the A24 was a duel carriage way and allowed for decent scratching.

My promise to myself is to take my first decent ride out back to Box Hill when a get my Z900 a little later this year - don't really fancy it on the FireBlade.

Cheers
Andrew

Small world Andrew. We used to have a small pack that used to run from South Ealing.....2 or 3 Zeds a couple of RDs and GTs. Used to drink...meet up at the Plough in Northfeilds..but often would frequent the Windmill / Red lion and all the other funny little pubs in Brentford.

Yep, sure is a small world Gary - Brentford is/was full of funny little pubs, we drank (and got thrown out) in all those pubs you mentioned in the mid-late 70s and our local haunts were a pub in Ealing Broadway on the corner where M&S is now (can't remember the name now) and a pub on Boston Rd (now a Harvester). Many drunken nights were had in the Chequers Nightclub opposite Ealing Broadway train station. Another stopping point was Battersea Bridge for a burger and a cuppa via blasting along the Embankment on our way back from our Thursday night visit to the 59 Club in Hackney.

Our bikes were my K1, a few big Zeds, a H2, a Jota, two kettles, a RD and a Commando - happy days, I think?

I lived in Whitestile Rd just down the road from the Plough and bought most of my road bikes from Bill Bunn MCs on the Ealing Rd, and Bill is still there!

Cheers
Andrew
