Autumn Rideout Fix

#1 PostAuthor: Andrew_s » Tue Nov 21, 2017 8:20 am

As my Z900 is off the road having its tank, side panels and rear cowl repainted by Hutch and the FireBlade is SORN'd, I got my Autumn rideout fix on my mate's Suzuki Kettle on Sunday - he was running-in his newly rebuilt Yamaha RD500 and I was also road testing my new GoPro my eldest son David bought me for my birthday! :vcool

Trouble is, the RD500 seized up after about 20 miles! :lar

Ohhh dear - watched episode #3...... so hows the RD now?

The Kettle is well lush tho' - had one in the early 1980's, binned the std pipes  and fitted a set of chrome Allspeeds
And on the 7th day... Zeds were created!

The RD is dead and locked solid Mark, this happened on Sunday - it's a suspected oil pump failure, but he won't know until it's stripped down. Shame.

The Kettle was a great ride and the first time I've ridden one, bags of torque and just wanted to get urgent very quickly - it sounded awsesom with spannies on, not sure what make, but they have exposed welds and lots of them.

I think YouTube may have deleted my first vidoes as I used Lyndard Skinard's Freebird as a backing track, so will have to upload the Acapella version tonight when I get home...........

Andy, I watched the "Freebird" version around midday - sounded good as background to the GT.

Andrew, I'm wanting to get my z900 painted and know Hutchy is the man. How much is he charging? (if you don't mind me asking...).
Cheers

I'm a bit cautious quoting Hutchy's price to me as he also needs to repair cracks in the side panels and the rear unit, and I'm not sure if he's doing me a deal because the Z900 belonged to his old pal Phil Churchett, but he may not be :?: so it's probably best to give him a ring and have a chat.
