Toast Racks....... Don't Laugh!

#1 PostAuthor: Ginger Bear » Tue Oct 18, 2011 9:58 pm

Ok,

I recently bought a Z1000A2, that has some 'period' pieces on it. Finned cases, 2:4 seat etc.
I plan to ressurect it as a 70's special, modded as it would have been 'back in the day'.
I've already sourced what is thought to be an Alpha 4-1 from Piggy. (Thanks matey :up ) It will look the dogs when it's be re-chromed (thats another question)
I have plans for a glitzy Metal flake paint job, but what would finish it of nicely is a set of 'Toast racks'.
I'm sure some of you more fashionable chaps might have some kicking around the back of the shed :?

Sorry Steve, but back on topic. I remember a couple of years ago I was down at Griffs and a mate of Nick's had his A4 there for some work and I seem to recall it was festooned with all manner of 'period' ornamentation and I'm pretty sure it had some toast racks on, but not 100%. The reason I mention it is because there was some talk of him returning it to standard so it may be worth a quick call to Nick. Probably come to nothing but worth an outside chance?

Oh and yes I did make an offer for the complete bike but I think it was a bit low

Here is a picture of my Z1R which I had in the mid-eighties which had the chromed "toastracks" fitted to the sides of the cylinders. I liked them at the time, but not so sure now!
