Word of warning on KipKawa if you go down this route. If he has stuff in stock then he is great but if he has to order anything in be prepared for a very long wait and zero communication. Also what they dont tell you is that some of their replica parts dont fit without modifications to the bike. An example is the clutch pull plate. They dont tell you that you need to purchase the pull mechanism from an earlier Z900/1000 to make it work even though they list as to fit Z1000J or R etc. Also Z1000S replica rear sets wont fit if you still have a side stand. The lever wont move to engage gears as it hits the side stand bracket. Fine if you have 100% faithful reproduction and carry paddock stand but not practical on a road bike. Oil cooler take off is fantastic and oil cooler brackets perfect fit but finish is poor.

Sorry Martin but I disagree. I have had nothing but excellent service from Alan. Even to the fact that I was ringing his mobile over Easter bank holiday asking and getting help when I was dialing in my cams.
I have bought loads of stuff of Alan including the oil cooler brackets and mine looked fine, he sent me a rough set to sort out the measurements then once he had a new batch in he sent me the new ones, which I fitted and they look pretty good.
I also had the same problem that you had with the rearsets fouling the side stand this was easily rectified by Alan sending me another foot peg that had the linkage on the opposite side.
Jovin, I suggest if you want to get any parts of Alan, give him a ring and have a chat with him and make your own mind up.

Rob, you can only call things as you experience them. You had good experience and mine have been indifferent. I'm still waiting on replacement rear sets ordered in the summer. I've given up chasing. Certainly not up to the excellent service I have had from Z Power and Debbens. Both are superb! Also on my personal hit list are Electrexworld. They have to take the prize for most appalling customer service. They told me they could build me the custom alternator for my Z900 in September with a 4 week lead time. Still not got it despite weekly promises that it will be with me next week. That's when I can get them to answer the phone to me!

Martin, I agree some people have good experiences and some have bad. For the rear shocks if you are after Worksperformance I got mine direct from the factory. Service was very good especially after the spacers went missing and they replaced them no probs. Thanks for the heads up on Electrex I was about to speak to them about rewinding a stator coil.
